Edinburgh Rescue Dog Training
Take your rescue from fearful to flourishing
When you welcomed in your rescue dog, you may have had a glorious honeymoon period where everything seemed almost perfect!
And then suddenly everything changed… and not in a good way.
The Rescue Dog Honeymoon Period
The rescue dog honeymoon period is entirely normal. If you’ve rescued a dog from Romania, Cypress, Spain, Greece or anywhere overseas, your dog has had a huge upheaval from what was their normal.
This may lead to your rescue dog
Specialist Training For Rescue Dogs From Abroad
Overseas rescue dogs need a tailored approach that goes far beyond traditional training drills. These dogs often carry hidden layers of environmental stress, exhaustion, and physical discomfort that directly fuel reactivity and fear.
That is why reviewing your dog’s complete physical well-being—including sleep, diet, toileting, and movement—is a core part of my approach. By uncovering and addressing the physical root causes of their struggles, we create the healthy, relaxed foundation needed for lasting behaviour change.

Reviewing your dog’s sleeping habits, diet, and poops can help uncover any imbalances that may be affecting your dog’s behaviour.

READY TO HELP YOUR RESCUE RECOVER AND RELAX?
Worth every penny!
Our Romanian rescue (Bennie) was struggling to adapt to his new life. He was very aggressive with people and other dogs out on walks.Suzanne has helped enormously with Bennie’s behaviour improving, as well as training us. She is incredibly patient, always had a different approach up her sleeve if something wasn’t working and nothing was too much hassle.
Couldn’t recommend her expertise any more highly, worth every penny.
A remarkable empathy!
It was obvious from the very start that Suzanne has a remarkable empathy with the dogs she engages with. She and our Romanian rescue dog struck up a rapport before the end of the first session. At the start of subsequent sessions the dog was excited to see Suzanne and enthusiastic to work with her.The issues which we were having with our dog have been resolved and the additional training techniques which we've been taught have been very worthwhile. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Suzanne and Edinburgh Holistic Dogs.
